Recipe Portion Scaler Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
Effective date: 5 October 2026
Recipe Portion Scaler ("Recipe Scaler", the "App") is provided by Three Two One Global Ltd ("Three Two One Global", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Recipe Portion Scaler iOS application.
Recipe Portion Scaler is designed as a local-first recipe calculation and organisation utility. You do not need to create an account, and the App does not use a Three Two One Global cloud backend to store your recipes, ingredients or recipe photos.
1. Information the App uses
Depending on how you use Recipe Portion Scaler, information may include:
- recipe names, original and desired serving sizes, and ingredient lists you enter or paste;
- scaled quantity results generated by the App;
- optional recipe photos you choose to attach;
- measurement preferences such as Metric or US Customary;
- clipboard contents when you deliberately use the ingredient-paste feature;
- purchase and entitlement information processed by Apple and RevenueCat when you buy or restore the lifetime unlock for unlimited saved recipes; and
- information you choose to send us if you contact support.
We distinguish between (a) recipe content and settings stored locally on your device, and (b) purchase / technical information processed by Apple and RevenueCat so paid features can work.
2. Local recipe storage
Recipes, ingredient information, scaled results and related settings are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to a Three Two One Global recipe server, and the App does not provide cloud recipe synchronisation, public profiles, messaging or social features.
Optional recipe photos you add are also stored locally on your device with the relevant recipe.
Three Two One Global does not receive or store your recipe content or recipe photos on its servers. Because there is no Recipe Portion Scaler account or cloud recipe backend, we cannot remotely access, export, recover or delete recipes from your device.
Deleting a recipe in the App, deleting the App, clearing App data or losing the device without a usable device backup may permanently remove local information.
3. Clipboard access
The App may access clipboard contents only when you deliberately use the ingredient-paste functionality to import an ingredient list.
Clipboard text is used to help parse ingredients for review before import. It is processed on your device for that purpose. We do not operate a cloud service that receives your clipboard contents.
You remain responsible for what you paste into the App and for reviewing parsed ingredients before importing them.
4. Photos and Apple's photo picker
You may optionally add a recipe photo using Apple's system photo picker. The App accesses only the photo you choose to select.
Selected photos are stored locally with your recipe on your device. The App does not upload recipe photos to a Three Two One Global server.
5. Purchases, Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat
The App offers a free experience with a limit of up to five locally saved recipes, plus an optional one-time non-consumable lifetime unlock for unlimited saved recipes. It is not a monthly or annual subscription. Payment is processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not receive your payment-card details.
We use RevenueCat to manage products, purchase status and entitlements (including whether the lifetime unlock is active) and to support Restore Purchases. Apple and RevenueCat may process information such as:
- an anonymous App User ID;
- product and transaction identifiers;
- purchase receipts and related receipt/product information;
- entitlement and purchase status;
- App Store region, platform and device-related technical information; and
- information used for purchase validation, restoration, fraud prevention and purchase analytics.
We use this information to provide purchased features, restore purchases, prevent entitlement errors and support purchase-related enquiries. This purchase information is separate from your locally stored recipes.
RevenueCat and Apple process information under their own privacy terms:
- RevenueCat Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
6. Analytics, advertising and tracking
At launch, Recipe Portion Scaler does not include third-party advertising SDKs, App Tracking Transparency prompts for cross-company advertising tracking, or separate product-analytics SDKs such as PostHog.
We do not sell personal data. Apple may provide developers with aggregated App Store and purchase information under Apple's own terms. RevenueCat provides purchase and entitlement information as described above.
7. What we do not collect for this App
For Recipe Portion Scaler at launch, Three Two One Global does not operate:
- user accounts, login or registration;
- cloud recipe synchronisation;
- public profiles;
- social features or messaging/chat;
- advertising;
- location collection for the App;
- contacts access;
- health-data access; or
- cross-company app/website advertising tracking.
This does not mean that no information is processed at all. Purchase and entitlement information may still be processed by Apple and RevenueCat as described in this Privacy Policy.
8. Data sharing and service providers
We do not sell your recipe content. Limited information is processed by service providers that help operate the App:
- Apple — App Store distribution, StoreKit / In-App Purchase and device operating-system features such as the photo picker; and
- RevenueCat — purchase and entitlement management.
If you email us for support, we receive the information you choose to send in that message.
9. Data retention and local deletion
Local App information remains on your device until you delete it in the App, delete the App, erase the device or otherwise clear App data.
Because there is no Recipe Portion Scaler account or Three Two One Global recipe server, we cannot remotely access, recover or delete local App content from your device.
Information processed by Apple or RevenueCat is retained according to their policies and legal obligations. Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and keep an appropriate record of the enquiry.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate to a local-first app that relies on Apple platform features. No device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device and passcode.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information that an organisation holds about you, including rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to certain processing and to complain to a regulator.
Most recipe information is held only on your device and is not accessible to us. You can view, edit or delete that information through the App. For purchase information handled through Apple or RevenueCat, you may also need to contact Apple or RevenueCat.
UK users can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/, although we would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
12. Children's privacy
Recipe Portion Scaler is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a Three Two One Global account or backend. The App does not ask for a date of birth. If you are not legally able to agree to these terms in your country, use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required.
In-App Purchases are processed through Apple and may be subject to Apple's purchasing controls and appropriate parent or guardian permission or supervision where applicable. An App Store content rating does not mean a child can independently enter into contracts or make purchases.
13. International processing
Your recipe content remains on your device unless you choose to copy or share it yourself. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase-related information in other countries under their own terms and safeguards.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements or our practices. We will change the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or on our website.
